This is the minimum rate at step one of the grade.  Higher rates may be authorized in cases of hard-to-fill positions where it is appropriate to the qualification of the appointee.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Chief of Police in supervising law enforcement activities at the Division of Security & Investigation; plans, directs, and evaluates the operations of a major component of the Division of Security and Investigation; instruct new police officer in overall department policies and procedures and in the investigative techniques to be followed; makes studies regarding overall operating procedures, methods and problems and submits recommendations for their improvement; Represents the Chief of Police at meetings and important functions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or other related fields plus three (3) years of work experiences in police work.
