The Government of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) seeks a qualified individual to fill the position of Meteorological Technician Trainee at Office of National Weather Service in Pohnpei State, FSM 96941.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Participates in the station training program of surface and upper air observation safety measure, may occasionally visit the second and climate stations for inspection, training and maintenance purpose, receives further training in observational and rawinsonde techniques and climatologically computations, communication procedures and dissemination of weather forecast centers and for supporting real time aircraft and marine operation; produce an disseminate local weather forecast severe weather forecast severe weather warnings for the FSM; reviews limited supervision from senior technicians in the performance of routine duties; performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

Graduation from a two years college with recommended 6 years semester hours in meteorologist, mathematics, engineering, algebra, physical science and electronics or related filed. Must have computer and communication skills.

Benefits:  Contract with a bi-weekly compensation of $341.48. Duration of contract may be extended depending on performance.
