The Government of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Financial Specialist in the Statistics Division of the Department of Resource & Development, located in Palikir, Pohnpei, FM 96941.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Financial Specialist reports to the Assistant Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary and undertakes the below duties and responsibilities:
- Manage accounts and perform bookkeeping duties, including:
- Develop, maintain and keeps ledgers of accounts;
- Ensure all financial matters in compliance with relevant laws and regulations and requirements
- Reconcile accounts and
- Prepare and route payment requests and assure disbursement of checks to vendors;
- Advise supervisors on matters relating to accounts;
- Perfoms secretarial/ clerical duties, including:
- Welcoming and assisting visitors;
- Answering calls and correspondences;
- Scheduling meetings and interviews;
- Maintain meeting minutes;
- Maintaining manual and electronic filing system;
- Ordering office supplies and managing stocks;
- Book travel arrangments;
- Prepare time sheets
- Prepare and submit periodic reports on financial and administrative matters as required;
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
Graduated from accredited College or University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Accounting or equivalent plus two (2) years of work experience.
Benefits:
A salary range of $16,000 depending upon the qualification of the applicant.
