DUTIES (ILLUSTRATION ONLY):
Assist the Secretary of the Department of Justice in operation of National Security within the FSM; directly responsible to the Secretary of the Department of Justice on consultations and opportunities of overall policework, planning, and receives general instructions as to work results desired; issue general orders for improvement and accountability of work methods and for enforcing rules, laws and  regulations; responsible for planning and directing of activities, rules and regulations, departmental policies and procedures, mission, goals and objectives, and philosophy of the division of the National Police; analyzes and set appropriate actions of such information in order to improve Divisional operations; promotes capacity building of the National Police force; Oversee the administrative duties include making recommendations for purchase of equipment and supplies, preparation of administrative budget estimates, and develop of the Division Mission, policies and procedures and objectives; work closely with other law enforcement agencies in the nation to enforce national security; performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or University with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology or Law Enforcement or related field plus five (5) years of responsible work experience in National Security with at least two (2) years in supervisory capacity.

DUTIES (ILLUSTRATION ONLY):
Patrols assigned areas and enforces rules, regulations, and the law of trespassing to the FSM Government areas; protects the property and life, and controls the movement of pedestrians within assigned areas; stands guard in President, Vice President and FSM Offices, act as guard on FSM special occasions, testify in court as government witness participates in surveillance of criminal activities, conduct preliminary investigation, write preliminary investigation, write preliminary reports, direct traffic at place where explosive in progress; make arrest and performs other duties.

Qualification Requirements:
Graduation from a High school with a diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred plus one to two years of work experience in related field. Basic writing and communication skills; Basic Knowledge in law enforcement.

DUTIES (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY):

Senior attorney law legal work; include civil and criminal litigation, research and write on complex legal and constitutional issues; prepares formal and informal Attorney opinions; provides legal counsel to Department and Offices Heads of the Executive Branch; drafts proposed bills and resolutions; testifies at congressional hearings; reviews passed legislation’s for constitutional and legal sufficiency; provides technical assistance to and coordinates to the work of lower level attorneys and para-legal personnel; performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Level I- Graduated from an accredited school of law with an earned degree (BA) in law or earned degree in pre-law or equivalent from an accredited school; or four (4) years of work experience practicing law and admission either to the FSM Bar or Bar member in any jurisdiction.

Level II- Graduated from an accredited school of law with an earned degree (BA) one (1) year of work experience practicing law and admission either to the FSM Bar or Bar member in any jurisdiction.

Level III- Graduated from an accredited school of law with an earned degree (BA) plus two (2) years of work experience practicing law and admission either to the FSM Bar or Bar member in any jurisdiction; or attained Master’s degree in Law (MA) plus admission either to the FSM Bar or Bar member in any jurisdiction.

Level IV- Graduated from an accredited school of law with an earned degree (BA) plus three (3) years of work experience practicing law and admission either to the FSM Bar or Bar member in any other jurisdiction; or attained a Juris Doctor in Law (JD) plus admission to either the FSM Bar or Bar member in any jurisdiction.
